The Fendouzhe deep sea vehicle

DEEP SEA VEHICLEs are mobile deep sea submersibles capable of underwater observation and operation. It is mainly used for underwater investigation, seabed exploration, seabed development, salvage, life-saving and other tasks, and can be used as an underwater operation base for divers.

The Fendouzhe deep sea vehicle is 10,000-meter-level manned submersible developed in China. It was approved in 2016 and undertaken by a scientific research team focusing on the research and development of Jiaolong and Shenhaiyongshi manned submersibles. On June 19, 2020, Fendouzhe manned submersible was officially named. On October 27, 2020, the Fendouzhe deep sea vehicle successfully dived more than 10,000 meters to 10058 meters in the Mariana trench, setting a new record for China's manned deep diving. At 8:12 on November 10, the Fendouzhe deep sea vehicle successfully bottomed in the Mariana trench, with a depth of 10,909 meters, renewing record for China's manned deep diving. On March 16, 2021, the Fendouzhe full sea depth manned submersible was officially delivered in Sanya.

On October 8, 2021, the Fendouzhe manned submersible completed its first routine scientific research application voyage and returned successfully. According to the mission deployment of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Administration Bureau of Yazhouwan, from August 11 to October 8, "Tan Suo Yi Hao" carried out the abyssal scientific research mission in the Western Pacific Ocean. It took 59 days to carry out the first conventional scientific research application of the Fendouzhe manned submersible, The 10,000-meter-level sea trial of deep-sea instruments and equipment was carried out. During the voyage, the Fendouzhe manned submersible dived 28 times at a depth of 7,700~10,900 meters, of which 7 times exceeded 10,000 meters, and conducted scientific research operations in the deepest area of the "Challenger deep" in the Mariana trench. Scientific research operations were carried out in the deepest area of the "Challenger deep" in the Mariana trench, and a number of precious abyssal water, sediment, rock and biological samples were collected. So far, the Fendouzhe has completed twenty-one 10,000-meter-level dives, and 27 scientists have reached the deepest ocean in the world through the Fendouzhe manned submersible. The number of 10,000-meter-level deep diving operations and the number of people diving in China ranking the first in the world.
